The CSA Methodology

What We Do Best

We offer end-to-end solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of your organization. From resource optimization to waste reduction, our comprehensive approach ensures a seamless transition to a circular economy.

Problem Solving

CSA’s Value Proposition

Circular Solutions has developed a proprietary process to incorporate a client’s sustainability objectives and to analyze their unique issues and challenges. We design solutions that optimize their client’s front of house waste collection and back of house processes. We then create a path for recyclable materials to not end up in landfills, thus creating circular economies. In short, we are problem solvers. We track trash from the customer’s site to the recycling center, constantly evaluating ways to boost recycling rates, and bring solutions that also address handling of other waste materials (cardboard, composting, plastics 1 – 7), always working to make the process more cost effective. Based on our ongoing evaluations, we also certify that an organization’s efforts are working.

We want to reach people, companies, and organizations who have a real commitment to reducing waste and recycling, but who may not know the best path forward to accomplish their objectives. They want to do good in the world, and we help them do it. Recycling and waste management is constantly evolving and complex. We offer our clients clarity and fact-based solutions to minimize the environmental impact of their waste material and their costs.

Our Services

Recycling Value Assessment (RVA)

An RVA is the process CSA uses to track a client’s waste and recycling stream from the front of house (point of collection), through the back of house process, to being hauled away from the property.

CSA goes further and tracks the waste and recycling from the hauler to the Material Recycling Facility (MRF). For us to certify that a client’s recycling is truly circular, we work directly with the MRF to broker the commodity to go to a processor that recycles the material, thus closing the loop. Additionally, for used beverage containers, CSA will provide validation and certification that they are a part of a circular economy.

Hub and Spoke Model

Through the RVA process, CSA works with a marquee property in a market (stadium, venue, university, etc.) to serve as a “hub.” Because the hub is certified (material is being recycled), CSA works directly with the MRF to identify their other customers who are candidates to become certified as a “spoke customer”. By leveraging their partnership with the MRF we can efficiently validate that a customer’s recycled material is being recycled and certify them. These “spoke” customers then become pro-recycling advocates and join the “hub” customer(s) in a broader effort to promote recycling…. changing perspectives and improving recycling rates across the community.

Commodity Trading and Benchmarking Reports for PET and Aluminum

By leveraging RVAs and the Hub and Spoke Model, CSA utilizes their relationships with MRFs across the country to facilitate the trading of commodities to processors that upcycle PET and ALU to smelters and processors that make new recycled bottles and cans.

Through our partnerships, we can report the number of bottles and cans that have been recycled. We then convert this number into pounds and use a calculation to determine:

  • Recycling Impact
  • Greenhouse Gas Impact

This benchmarking report is provided to clients so they can include real-time data into their own sustainability reports.

Analysis to Action

Our Process

Evaluation & Analysis

Perform detailed waste audits to quantify the types and volumes of waste generated. Analyze the environmental impact and identify opportunities for waste reduction and recycling handling costs.

Roadmap Planning

Define clear and measurable goals aligned with circular economy principles. These goals could include waste reduction targets, recycling rates, and the integration of circular design principles into materials processing.

Execute & Monitor

Execute the planned initiatives, set up recycling programs, or optimizing supply chain practices. Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with the circular economy strategy.
